Abstract
*
The city of Palembang in March 2016 experienced inflation of (0.22
percent). The cumulative inflation rate in 2016 was 0.43 percent. While
the inflation rate "year on year" (March 2016 to March 2015) was 4.89
percent.
* Inflation in Palembang City in March 2016 based on
expenditure groups, showed that 5 (five) groups experienced an increase
in the price index, namely the foodstuffs group by 0.72 percent;
clothing group by 0.56 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes
& tobacco group of 0.45 percent; health group by 0.13 percent; and
education, recreation and sports groups by 0.06 percent. While 2 (two)
expenditure groups experienced an increase in the price index, namely
the transportation, communication & financial services group at
-0.25 percent and the housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel group
by -0.07 percent.
* Commodities experiencing price increases with
the highest share of inflation in Palembang include shallots, red
chili, garlic, tekwan / model and wet shrimp. While commodities which
experienced price declines include: rice, chicken eggs, broiler meat,
cork fish, vegetable tomatoes and air transportation.
* Lubuk
Linggau City in March 2016 experienced inflation of (0.58 percent). The
cumulative inflation rate from 2016 to March is 0.64 percent and the
inflation rate "year on year" (March 2016 to March 2015) is 6.47
percent.
* Commodities that experienced price increases that
caused inflation in Lubuk Linggau City in March 2016 included: red
chili, shallots, oranges, and filter clove cigarettes. While commodities
that experienced the highest price decline included broiler meat, rice,
vegetable tomatoes and chicken eggs.
* Based on inflation
calculation in Palembang city and Lubuk Linggau city, in March 2016
South Sumatra Province experienced inflation of 0.26 percent, cumulative
inflation rate up to March 2016 of 0.45 percent and inflation rate
"year on year" (March 2016 to March 2015) was 5.05 percent.
