Coordination Meeting to Discuss Concrete Steps to Control Inflation in the Regions in 2024
On Monday (6/5), the Head of BPS Muara Enim Regency, represented by the person in charge of activities, Hida Kusmawati S.ST., attended a virtual zoom meeting on controlling inflation in 2024 in the Muara Enim Regent's Meeting Room.
In this coordination meeting, inflation developments during Eid were discussed. Inflation in April 2024, which coincides with Eid, is lower compared to March 2024 which
coincides with the start of Ramadan. This inflation is also lower than Eid inflation in the previous three years and higher than Eid inflation in May 2020.
Inflation during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr is relatively controlled. Food commodity prices are relatively stable and even a number of commodities are experiencing deflation, such as red chilies, cayenne peppers, rice and purebred chicken eggs. Based on SP2KP price monitoring in the first week of May 2024, several food commodities whose prices have increased are: shallots, garlic, granulated sugar and red chilies.
